Why am I doing this?

As a former military member with 9.5 years of service in the U.S. Army National Guard and Active Duty U.S. Navy, I participate in the Portraits for Patriots program to honor and give back to those who serve our country. While the Veterans Day Free Headshots sessions are not part of the Portraits for Patriots my goal is to provide professional headshots that give our heroes the polished, professional look they deserve for their civilian careers. As a veteran I want to gift you with the professional headshot you deserve.

Who is eligible to participate and receive a free veteran headshot?

We are proudly offering a free headshot session and one complimentary headshot photo to honor those who have served our country on Veterans Day (November 11th, 2024). This offer is available to former military members, including retired, honorably discharged, and disabled veterans, who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. It’s our way of saying thank you for your service.

One Outfit: Please arrive in the outfit you’d like to wear; no outfit changes are possible. Our prep guide will help you get ready with advice on what to wear.
First image included as part of the session
Additional Images: Purchase at a reduced rate of $45 per image (regularly $95) when your gallery is delivered.
Image Delivery: You’ll receive a link via email to download your favorite photo and purchase any additional images if desired. There’s no obligation to buy extra images.

You can submit a photo of your drivers license with military veteran noted on it, DD-214, or retired military ID for proof of military service.

We will not distribute or sell your information. We will add you to our email and text messing to share upcoming sessions and offers along with sending you the information to book your session

I don't look good in photos, will you be able to help?

You look great—you just haven’t seen it yet. As your headshot photographer, it’s my job to position you perfectly and capture your best look. If past photos haven’t done you justice, it’s because you haven’t had the right photographer. Be yourself, and I’ll handle making you look incredible in your headshot session.

What is important about finding a headshot photographer?

Liking your headshot photographer is essential. They need to make you feel comfortable and bring out your best in front of the camera. If you’re not at ease, it will show in the photos, impacting the results. That’s why it’s crucial to talk to your photographer before your session to understand their approach and direction. 99.99% of my clients aren’t models—they’re just like you. It’s my job as your headshot photographer to guide you, make you look like a pro, and ensure you get the shots you need.

How will you make me look great?

Looking great in photos is all about natural direction and avoiding forced poses. As your headshot photographer, my goal is to create a comfortable environment where you can be yourself. A great headshot isn’t just about the camera and lights—it’s about the experience. I’ll guide you, keep the conversation light, and together we’ll capture your genuine expressions, not the staged ones. I won’t ask you to “smile” or “say cheese” because that’s not the real you. My aim is to capture your true personality and natural reactions, which make for the best headshot photos.

How long will my session last?

Our headshot session times vary depending on your needs, but typically last around two hours. This allows ample time for multiple outfit changes and different looks, giving you a wide variety of headshots to choose from. After the session, we’ll review the photos together to select the best headshots that perfectly meet your requirements.

When will I pick my photos?

You’ll select your favorite headshot photos during your session before you leave. Our camera is tethered to a computer, allowing the images to be displayed on a large monitor for immediate viewing.

What will you do during retouching?

I work with an incredible headshot retoucher who will expertly remove blemishes and minor imperfections, and even soften wrinkles if desired. Our goal is to ensure you still look natural after retouching. We don’t use heavy airbrushing or filters—every image is carefully retouched by hand. We’ll discuss your specific retouching preferences during your session to achieve the best results.

How long does it take to receive my retouched photos?

You can expect to receive your retouched headshot images within 5–10 business days. Often, the turnaround is quicker, depending on our retoucher’s current workload.
